Orijen Tundra Freeze-Dried Cat Treats

Orijen Tundra Freeze-Dried Cat Treats are nothing more than what they say they are, and in this case that’s a wonderful thing.  These treats, Tundra, have a very short and to the point ingredient list.  The list of ingredients include boneless venison, venison liver, boneless elk, elk liver, boneless quail, & steelhead trout.

Our cat, at first sniff, wasn’t too impressed.  It took him a moment before he’d give them a taste.  Though he wasn’t used to the high-end treats and more accustomed to the many unpronounceable ingredients of the grocery story cat treats.  He did finally decide they were worth a munch and he gobbled them all up.  Now he looks forwards to what comes out of the Orijen treat bag.

The Canadian based Orijen company uses free range animals for these freeze dried treats.  Treat size is great for offering a non-filling reward, of course not ideal to be used as the main part of a cat’s diet.  This treat does contain rather high protein of 45% with 35% fat, but it is intended for offering occasionally.  The suggested protein/fat ratio for an adult cat as part of a regular diet is 25-30%/15-20% so you can see why these treats are only suggested to be offered in moderation.  These, of course, aren’t ideal for cats who need a lower protein diet for health reasons such as renal issues.

Overall I am pleased with these ‘Tundra’ morsels, and my old Siamese seems to be too.  I’d feed them again.

I received these goodies free of charge from Chewy.com in an exchange for my honest review.
