Our Review
As all other Kong products, this product doesn’t lack in quality. Though this toy is not intended for chewing activity, heavy chewers would be able to destroy it in no time and looks to have done so based on some other reviews. It does bounce, squeak & is easy to clean by just rinsing off.
The tennis ball inside is to entice the dog to play with the toy, it is not removable. This design could become frustrating to some dogs in which they never are able to reach the ‘prize’ resulting in the dog losing interest. It does have handles for easy pickup, carry, and the occasional game of tug but these openings would be easy for an overzealous dog to get their lower jaw through risking injury. Always observe your dog during playtime to prevent accidents like this.
Our terriers and shepherds, including puppies, weren’t overly impressed with the product. I thought the squeak would entice them to play but it didn’t. I believe the harder exterior texture to have been an influence as opposed to their normal tennis balls and stuffed squeakies.
This product was not for our crew but there are plenty of positive reviews for it out there showing dogs having more fun with the toy. I could see it being enjoyable for a retriever or a dog who would fetch anything. The odd football shape allows for various directions when it bounces so as not to allow the dog to ‘know’ it’s actual direction, giving more fun to the chase.
